When using Rebocap for full-body tracking in VRChat, strange issues occur.
I have summarized the information below.
[Environment]
HMD: Quest 3S
SteamVR
Virtual Desktop
[Symptoms]
The issue does not occur all the time. Instead, it falls into one of the following three patterns.
Some days pattern ① happens most often, while other days it is mostly ③.
① Full-body tracking works normally.
② Only both legs fail to track.
③ Only one leg fails to track.
[What I have checked]
- Restarting the HMD or SteamVR sometimes fixes the issue, but sometimes it does not.
- The white spheres displayed during tracking calibration in VRChat appear roughly where the trackers are actually attached.
Even when the avatar and the white spheres are almost perfectly aligned during calibration in VRChat, the issue still occurs.
- When opening Debug Mode in state ③ or ②, the TrackingType is set to 4.
By default, Rebocap displays tracking points based on bone rules, while VRChat’s IK animation provides access points based on joint rules.
This makes it look like VRChat mistakenly recognizes the nearest tracking point.
Enabling this feature and switching Rebocap tracking points to joint mode should solve the issue.

Thanks for your reply.
It looks like I hadn’t configured some of the basic settings correctly — sorry about that.
I’ll review the setup again following the steps you shared.
Thanks again!

I reconfigured my settings based on the guide you provided.
As you pointed out, the tracking point issue has been resolved. However, the overall problem itself has not changed.
If you have any other ideas about what might be causing this, I would really appreciate your suggestions.
To help illustrate this strange behavior, I recorded three attempts at tracking and attached the videos for reference.
Attempt 1: The feet were not tracked, but the waist appeared to be tracked.
Attempt 2: Only the right foot was tracked; the left foot did not move.
Attempt 3: The feet were not tracked, but the waist appeared to be tracked.
Additionally, although I was not able to capture it on video, I have also observed a pattern where both feet are tracked correctly.

You were right! That fixed the issue. Thank you!
